IL: Residents demand ‘Dolton Dictator’ Tiffany Henyard resign over sex assault, embezzlement scandals: ‘Worst mayor in America’

The Village of Dolton’s monthly board meeting descended into chaos as the swarm of 100 people banged on doors as dozens of others testified against Henyard, leading the four trustees to walk out.

The board had been scheduled to address Henyard’s veto of an investigation into her alleged misuse of taxpayer money for lavish trips and her own $1 million police detail — a decision it promised to override at Monday’s meeting.

County Manager Dena Diorio sent two emails to employees saying the change will promote problem-solving, creativity and partnership. Employees are pushing back, including some who had remote work privileges before the pandemic.

NM: Las Cruces will pay new city manager same salary as predecessor

Ikani Taumoepeau gets a 3-year contract with a starting salary of $216,000 – equaling that of his predecessor. Taumoepeau will also receive a monthly car allowance of $500, and a two-week vacation on top of 160 hours of annual leave.

NM: Tucumcari City Manager Paula Chacon rescinds resignation

Warren Frost, the attorney for Tucumcari city manager Paula Chacon stated in a letter to the city commission written on her behalf that she would rescind her earlier offer to resign. The letter accused Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Lopez of harassment, a hostile work environment and a conflict of interest.

“Paula receives almost daily calls from Commissioner Lopez complaining about the Police Department and attempting to intervene on behalf of his son,” the letter states.
