WI: Eau Claire County Administrator invited to White House
County Administrator Kathryn Schauf has been invited to the White House as part of their Communities in Action: Building a Better Wisconsin series, where she and other Wisconsin elected officials will meet.

Mayor Stan Mills defended the decision, citing Tedder’s qualifications and the town’s two-year struggle to fill the city manager position.

Committee members developed a job description that requires applicants to have a “minimum of one to three years’’ of experience working as a municipal or city manager or administrator, an assistant in either of these roles or have equivalent education or experience.

OH: Gallipolis City Commission announces passing of City Manager Dow Saunders
Gallipolis City Commission President Michael Fulks asked for a moment of silence for the late Dow Saunders at a special meeting of the commission on Tuesday.
Saunders passed away unexpectedly on Monday at the age of 67. He had served as city manager since 2021, in addition to two terms as a city commissioner.
CA: Arvin officials eliminate assistant city manager position
During Tuesday’s meeting, city officials voted to eliminate it with a three to one vote. Mayor Daniel Borreli said: “[Arvin] wasn’t ready for an assistant city manager—the city needs city public workers, police officers, and dispatchers.”

The resolution notes in “the absence of statutory or common law authority” to prevent an elected official from bullying or harassing others, the mental health and safety of staff or other elected officials is put at risk — and could result in significant legal exposure and increased legal costs.
