British Columbia: City says key fob access changes for Kamloops mayor, council are to protect staff
New measures are in place restricting Kamloops city council members from directly accessing staff areas at all municipal facilities, including city hall.
Jen Fretz, the city’s civic operations director, wouldn’t comment on whether the move to change key fob access for elected officials was related to the ongoing chaos at city hall.
PA: Cumberland County district attorney charges former Newville manager with mismanaging funds
Cumberland County District Attorney Sean McCormack filed felony charges, including tampering with public records and access device fraud, against former longtime Newville Borough Manager Fred Potzer.
Authorities said Potzer used funds from other accounts, such as the Water and Sewer Authority, to pay borough expenses to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars and cover up the transactions.
A police affidavit alleges Potzer did it because there was no money coming into the borough, and he was “robbing Peter to pay Paul.”

VA: Pittsylvania County administrator resigns: ‘Sometimes in life things just don’t work out’
The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday evening accepted the resignation of Stuart Turille Jr., county administrator, after only a year on the job.
The resignation is effective immediately.
“Sometimes in life things just don’t work out,” Turille told the Register & Bee immediately following Tuesday night’s meeting,
KY: Former mayor proposes city administrator amid saga in Walton
Former Walton Mayor Mark Carnahan proposed the idea of hiring a full-time city administrator to the city council during its meeting Tuesday evening.
The proposal follows a string of incidents in the last month revolving around current Mayor Gabe Brown, in which he was accused of using city property for personal gain, resigned, and then rescinded his resignation.
